Dr. Vangelis Lympouridis Contributes to Basemark’s Leadership Position in VR
Helsinki (Finland) and Los Angeles (CA), November 18, 2015 – Basemark announced today that Dr. Vangelis Lympouridis, a distinguished scholar and VR expert at the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California, has joined the company’s advisory board.
Dr. Lympouridis is a technologist and educator with expert knowledge in the areas of Virtual Reality and Whole Body Interaction. He received his PhD from the University of Edinburgh and holds an MSc from the same University and a BFA from the Glasgow School of Art. He is currently running the MxR studio at the School of Cinematic Arts under Prof. Mark Bolas. The MxR Lab and Studio stands at the forefront of VR research and development and were recently awarded the first prize at the immersive VR/AR competition at SIGGRAPH 2015.
Basemark is currently developing a professional VR performance and quality testing solution. Dr. Lympouridis’ involvement and support is particularly valuable in this area of the company’s operations.
